BATHROOM TREND SETTER AT ISH

Libra again displayed its bath range at the 2009 ISH bath room fair. This premier fair attracts all the leaders in the industry every two years.New products and innovative ideas are shown and trends are set for the following  two years until the next extravaganza.

Libra was no exception with its new display of high-end free standing baths. In addition it tested the international market with its new budget line of products (Widestar range) with a view to entering the emerging markets and base housing market in Europe and Eastern Europe. This was widely accepted and full production of this new range is now underway .

However it was primarily the introduction of upmarket free standers and the new range of European standard shower trays that attracted huge interest and orders.
There is always a time lag before the South African market responds but interestingly this time lag reduces substantially year on year.

It was great to see our South African customers also visiting the show and we are confident that new products will be in the SA showrooms very quickly.

WHAT’S IN?
The bathroom has now become part of the “living space” and with that comes larger space allocation for bathrooms. En suite bathrooms are more open plan with only the toilet suite being closed off with a door. This has led to an explosion in the popularity of free-standing baths.

FREE-STANDING BATHS
Don’t be led astray on looks alone. Baths that are not made both inside and out with hygienic sanitary grade acrylic must be selectively avoided. Most bath products made of non-acrylic materials like Gel coat, resins, stone, ABS do not have the hygienic properties required for today’s living.
