Large Tub ONE pump system

Once the installation of your spa has been completed, it is time to fill your spa for absolute enjoyment and thorough relacation.

Please follow these instructions to ensure a trouble free spa:

  1. The main isolator switch and circuit breakers for the pump, blower and heater must be in off positions.
  2. The thermostat must be set to 0°c.
  3. Open all the ball valves except the waste valve (situated on top of the jet pump).
  4. Fill the spa with a garden hose. The spa should be filled to at least 50mm above the top suction and/or highest jet.
  5. To get the system operational, switch on the main isolator switch and the pump circuit breaker.  Press the button (located on the rim) once to activate the jet pump. Leave unit running.
  6. Switch on the air blower circuit  breaker and press the button on the spa to activate stage 2. Stage two will turn the pump off and the air blower on.
  7. Having the pleasure of complete therapeutic relaxation, press the button on the spa to stage three which will operate both the jet pump and the air blower.
  8. Pressing the button on the spa to the fourth stage will result in the unit switching off.

Note:

  1. Where the pump system is situated higher than the spa, prime the unit by filling up the basket end of the jet pump with water. This can be done by removing the transparent cover on the pump.
  2. By opening the air control (situated on the rim of the spa) the hydro jet pressure can be adjusted from minimum to maximum.

Timer and Thermostat
  1. Heating the size of the spa for a one pump system will take approximately 6 to 8 hours, depending on the surroundings.
  2. To maintain the temperature whilst the spa is in use, switch the override button on the timer to the on position. (Remember-switch off the override switch to auto on the timer when the spa is not in use).
  3. Switch the heater circuit breaker on and set the required temperature on the dial of the thermostat. Suggested temperature is between 32 °C and 40 °C.
  4. Please note, turning the thermostat higher will not result in heating the water any quicker.

Note:

  1. The heating period may vary according to season.
  2. A Bubble blanket and/or solid cover will assist in reducing the heat dissipation into the air, therefore resulting in heating the water a little quicker.
  3. The red button situated on the distribution board is a safety cut out. Should the water temperature exceed 50°C this safety device will automatically cut the power to the heating elements. The unit can be reset by depressing the red button once the water temperature has cooled down.

Emptying your spa

  1. Switch all the circuit breakers to the “off” position.
  2. If no permanent waste has been fitted, attach the waste pipe to  the connection supplied above  the jet pump.
  3. Close all the ball valves and then open the waste valve.
  4. Unscrew the suction cover from the top suction and replace with the stopper unit. 
  5. Turn on the jet pump circuit breaker and switch the timer to “override”.
  6. With the heater circuit breakers in the “off” position turn the thermostat dial to 50°C. The jet pump should switch on.
  7. Once the spa is empty turn the  thermostat to 0 °C. Switch the override button on the timer and the jet pump circuit breaker to the “off “ position.
  8. Leave the mains isolator on.

Note: Remove all residue water on the seat and the footwell by hand.


Changing the filter cartridge

  1. The filter cartridge can be removed by undoing the locking ring on top of the filter.
  2. Clean the filter cartridge by rinsing it with a garden hose between every pleat. Ensure that  the unit is clean before soaking it in a mixture of luke warm water and biotex for 30 minutes.
  3. After soaking, hose down the cartridge. It is advisable to rotate filter cartridges (to give one a rest period where it can dry out and so destroy most water micro-organisms).
  4. Please ensure that water filtration system functions correctly as this has an impact on the water quality and clarification.
  5. A dirty or worn out cartridge will put the jet pump under strain. Clean out the filter every 3 to 4 months to prevent it from clogging up.

Spa Chemicals

  1. Recommended chemicals to be  used in your spa is spa chlorine tabs or bromine tabs, no pool chemicals!
  2. The spa tablets must be put in a floating dispenser to prevent direct contact with the acrylic surface of the spa. Refer to manufacturers specification for dosage.
  3. A very important aspect of the spa hygiene is the PH level. Ideally the range should be between 7.2 PH and 7.6 PH.
  4. Speak to your local pool shop regarding methods to decrease or increase the PH level of your the spa water.

Chemicals not to be used in your spa

  1. Do not use pool chemicals in your spa.
  2. Use only fragrances made for  spas and not ordinary bath salts.
  3. Body lotions and oils should not be used in your spa.
  4. Abrasive cleaners, bleach or other strong chemicals should not be used when cleaning the unit.

 
Large Tub TWO pump system
After installation of your spa is completed, it is time to fill your spa up in preparation to enjoying your spa.

Make sure that all the circuit breakers and the isolator is in the off positions, and that the thermostat is set to 0 °C, for a clean spa, make sure the filter cartridge is installed. Now open all ball valves except the waste valve that is situated on top of the pump. It is now the time to fill up your spa with a garden hose. 

The unit should be filled to at least 50mm above the top suction and/or highest jet. To get the system operational we now need to switch on the isolator switch and the filter pump circuit breaker, switch the override button on the timer to the on position and turn the thermostat to required temperature. This will switch on the filter pump, leave running till all air bubbles escaped. Switch off the timer override and turn the thermostat dial to 0 °C. Turn on the jet pump circuit breaker and press the button on your spa once to activate the pump, leave unit running. Getting the bubbles going, switch on the blower circuit breaker and press the button on the spa to activate stage 2, which will turn the pump off and the blower unit on. 

Having the pleasure of full use therapeutic relaxation in your spa press the button on the spa to stage 3 which will operate both the pump and the blower.  Pressing the button on the spa to the fourth stage will result in the unit switching off.

Note:

  1. Where the pump system is higher than the spa, please prime the unit by filling up the basket end of the pump with water this can be done by removing the see through lid on the pump.
  2. By opening the air control on the unit one can adjust the pressure through the jets to maximum.

Timer and thermostat

Heating the size of the spa for a two pump system will take approximately 4 to 8 hours, so one can work backwards from the time one want to use the unit and set the timer accordingly, add one or two hours depending on the lenth of time one want’s to spend in the unit. Example : want to use unit about 18H00 take 4 to 8 hours off of this time which gives us the start of the heating cycle as 10H00, now add the time one wants to spend in the unit to the time from which the unit will be in use - 2 hour, thus the heating of the unit should stop at 20H00 – to keep the unit on temperature whilest the unit is in use. One can also switch the override button on the timer to the on position to maintain temperature (Remember to switch off the override on the timer when unit is not in use).

Getting the bubbles going, switch on the blower circuit breaker and press the button on the spa to activate stage 2, which will turn the pump off and the blower unit on.  Having the pleasure of full therapeutic relaxation in your spa press the button on the spa to stage 3 which will operate both the pump and the blower.  Pressing the button on the spa to the fourth stage will result in the unit switching off.
